We are looking for a Senior Licensed Accountant to join us at this pivotal moment, share our vision, and help shape the future of European banking.
Maintain and oversee the branch’s general ledger, ensuring all transactions are
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L)
Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, including accruals,
Manage local tax filings, including VAT (IVA), Corporate Income Tax (IRC), and
Conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts, inter-branch transfers, and
Coordinate with internal and external auditors during annual reviews, providing all
Monitoring changes in local financial and tax law
Cooperation in the implementation of new banking products to ensure compliance
Supervision of the invoicing process for bank customers
Manage fixed asset registers and ensure correct valuation of collateralized assets
Certification is a must - Certified Accountant (Contabilista Certificado) registered with the OCC (Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados)
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in accounting, within bank or financial services sector in Portugal is a must
Solid experience in the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with IFRS
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
Advanced Excel skills. Precision in handling complex financial data.
Native/Fluent Portuguese and Professional Working Proficiency in English (required for international reporting).
High level of integrity, especially regarding sensitive financial information and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) awareness.
Ability to keep up with the frequent changes in Portuguese tax law and EU banking directives.
